Our Director:

Jason McDowell

I have a long history with Fraser Lake Camp. My grandfather founded the camp in 1955, my parents met at camp, and I spent many summers of my childhood at Fraser, including five summers on staff. It has always been a place that is very close to my heart.

I completed a BSc. in Physics from the University of Waterloo and have held a variety of positions since; a Technical Researcher; a Project Manager; and a Senior Project Engineer in Medical Installations.

I am grateful for my stint in the corporate world but have felt drawn back to the humanities.

I consider it a privilege to now harbour adventure, creativity and enthusiasm for children in a safe, engaging environment. Growing up in a Mennonite culture, community has always been a central part of my life. In a healthy community no one feels like the center and no one feels like a fringe member. I see camp as a safe place to be yourself and I recognize the impact such a place has on a child’s life.
