Welcome Day
Tuesday, January 9 from 1-3pm
This Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, between 1-3pm, Willowgrove will be hosting a Welcome Day, drop-in event for local Indigenous groups.
Groups or individuals are invited to come to Willowgrove for a tour of the 100-acre farm they care for.
The event is part of a Reconciliation policy passed in April 2023 that offers free land access to Indigenous communities and organizations for events, ceremony, or for hosting teachings. Visit Willowgrove's Reconciliation Web Page for more information.
Through existing relationships with Indigenous individuals, Willowgrove understands that land access can be a large barrier for some Indigenous organizations and communities, especially for those in urban environments.
It is the hope of Willowgrove that this event may help to build meaningful, reciprocal relationships with local Indigenous groups, recognize past contributors to the KBE program, and act as a public commitment to reconciliation for the future.
