Our Teaching Staff

Laura Yakutchik: Willowgrove Education Director. Laura oversees both the Willowgrove Primary School and Willowgrove's Outdoor Education Program. A two-time graduate of York University (B.A. and B. Ed), Laura has over 14 years experience in a variety of educational settings, including the classroom and the great outdoors. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario which keeps her tightly connected to the outdoor/environmental community.

Geralde Reesor-Grooters: Willowgrove Primary School Teacher of Junior/Senior Kindergarten since 2007. Geralde has her Bachelor of Education from the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen, the Netherlands. She also has two years teaching experience in the Netherlands and has been the Sunday School coordinator at the Community Mennonite Church in Stouffville.

Michelle McKinnell: Willowgrove Primary School Teacher of Grade 1 since 2007. Michelle, originally from Saskatchewan, has her Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba, her Bachelor of Church Music from the Canadian Mennonite Bible College in Winnipeg and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor.

Carey Yeoman: Willowgrove Primary School Teacher of Grade 2/3. Carey, who joined the teaching staff in 2008, has her Bachelor of Arts-Honours from York University and her Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. Carey has experience as an independent educator specifically for children with learning disabilities. Carey has served as the Director and Education Consultant for Sentinel Educational Services, School Manager of the Atlantic Language School in Galway, Ireland and a Resource Teacher and Deaf Educator at the Galway, Ireland Educate Together Private School.
