The "Invisible Curriculum" Fraser Lake Camp

Imagine a home away from home. Time after time, we hear that Fraser Lake Camp is a second home for our campers and staff who come here year after year. Fraser is family. Caring, energetic, and creative staff seek to nurture your child’s growth and create a diverse radically-inclusive community in a Christian context.

Imagine a week filled to the brim with fun activities. Archery, climbing wall, swimming, arts and crafts, and canoeing are just a tiny taste of what your child will experience in Fraser’s week-long overnight camp program.

Imagine being immersed in nature, hearing the chirp of crickets lulling you to sleep at night, and birdsongs (and the camp breakfast bell) to wake you up in the morning. Recent brain studies have shown the immense emotional, social, and physical benefits of spending concentrated time in nature. Being “unplugged” and connecting with nature is a great way for your child to spend the summer holidays.

Imagine a time of learning and growth. Like school, camp is a backdrop for incredible learning and growth in our children. At camp, children learn an “invisible curriculum”: one that teaches them valuable social skills and grows their independence and self-confidence. Camp gives children the opportunity to come out of their shells, and to have fun – whether that is by singing nonsense songs around a campfire, dressing up for a theme meal, playing mud soccer in the rain, or making up a skit with their cabin group. Your child will also learn skill development during our daily camp activities. As a Christian camp, we encourage campers to nurture their relationships with others, the natural world, themselves, and with God. There are so many opportunities for learning, imagination, and creative play at camp.

Your child will have the opportunity each day to try a variety of activities, develop friendships, and to grow in new ways. Many Fraser campers have said that their week at camp was one of the highlights of their entire year.

Will you enable your child to have a never-to-be-forgotten week of adventure and learning?
