Camper Inclusion Coordinator

The Willowgrove Camper Inclusion team is responsible for overseeing our Helping Hand program and providing support for campers who require extra assistance. The Helping Hand program is offered free of charge to children who need additional support while at camp. Children who take part in this program may require extra assistance due to known behavioural difficulties, diagnosed disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, or just going through a tough time and need extra emotional support.

As the Camper Inclusion Coordinator, you would oversee a staff of 4  inclusion counsellors,  as well as occasionally assisting campers on a needed basis each week. The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for communicating with parents before camp to get to know the child as well as during camp regarding any issues or progress. They are also responsible for emailing camper’s families at the end of each week to provide an update. The Inclusion Coordinator will answer questions and guide inclusion counsellors and camp counsellors on how to handle challenging behaviour.  Inclusion Counsellors and Helping Hand Campers will be placed in various cabin groups so it is important the Inclusion Coordinator is able to manage their time and feels comfortable moving between groups to support different people.
