Leadership Program Coordinator

The Willowgrove Leadership Program Coordinator is responsible for running the LEAD (Leadership Empowerment and Development) program for youth in grade 9 and 10. They will be responsible for the care and wellbeing of all youth leaders. The  Leadership Program Coordinator  prepares youth to assist in cabins by leading sessions on leadership skills, teambuilding,  working with children and diversity and inclusion. They will circulate while youth are placed in cabins to provide feedback  and assist  where needed. The  Leadership Program Coordinator is responsible for evaluating each participant at the end of the week. Other tasks include assisting participants in running  Camp Can on Wednesday, assisting with wide games, special events and clean up. 

Employment Dates:  

  • May 22 - 23rd – Leadership Team Orientation

  • May 25 - 29 – Leadership Training at Fraser Lake

  • July 1 – Open House 

  • June 8, 9, 22, 23, 27 – Staff Training 

  • July 2  - August 27

  • Contract includes 2 days after camp for clean up. 

  • Must be available to work all 8 weeks of the summer

All staff training dates are mandatory unless other arrangements have been made with the Camp Manager. 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum completion of grade 12 with prior camp experience

  • Prior leadership experience – experience supervising others is an asset

  • Strong verbal communications skills

  • Standard First Aid/CPR-C by the start of camp

  • Mental Health First Aid (not required but strongly recommended)

  • Clean vulnerable sector police record check
